Refining Process Engineer,China Refining
Working Location: Beijing
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Engineering Applications
- To participate in/ assist to process engineering tasks
- To assist in performing economic evaluation of capital projects.
- To design simple systems using manual and computer based calculations to develop equipment datasheets.
• Plant optimization / Troubleshooting
- To develop process optimization programs to maximize plant profits and efficiency.
- To monitor/analyze unit performance and identify opportunities for improvements.
- To provide assistance to Operation in trouble-shooting plant problems.
- To propose and conduct plant tests to verify or demonstrate process/control/engineering improvement ideas.
• HSE
- Actively participate in process safety activities and HAZOP / PHSSER reviews.
- To report any unsafe condition, potential environmental problem, any opportunities and propose recommendation to improve in his/her work area based on his/her knowledge, experience and lesson learnt.
• Communication
- Generate internal and external reports to share best practices.
- Maintain contact with process engineering groups in BP Refining & Logistic Technology, Safety & Operational Risk
- Respect others as equals without consideration of positions or educational background.
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor degree or above, majored in Chemical Engineering or Refining Engineering preferred

Refining Market Analyst, China Refining
Working Location: Beijing
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Market Analysis
- To develop and maintain a regional supply and demand balance model to understand market trends.
- To track competitor development using a range of sources (publicly available news reports, industry publications, and analysis from other parts of BP).
- To understand and track developments in the Chinese domestic product pricing mechanism and build comparisons to international product pricing.
- To assist in performing economic evaluation of capital projects.
• Information and Knowledge Management
- To develop information management systems so that the supporting references to analytical work can be easily identified.
- To identify opportunities for improvements in information and knowledge management.
- To propose and prepare routine market reports to continually inform the wider BP community about market developments.
• HSE
- To report any unsafe condition, potential environmental problem, any opportunities and propose recommendation to improve in his/her work area based on his/her knowledge, experience and lesson learnt.
• Communication
- Generate internal and external reports to share best practices.
- To work closely with the wider BP organization as a whole (inside and outside of China) to ensure high quality, integrated deliverables.
- Respect others as equals without consideration of positions or educational background.
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor degree or above, majored in Chemical Engineering or Economics (or some other business studies)
Core Competencies:
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
